Home Office Spruce-up!

 

I wasn't exactly sure what type of a look I wanted for the office; but I knew I wanted something along the lines of a sitting room with a writing desk look rather than a technological, ergonomic space (boring and not really attractive!) 

Our first week after moving in it looked like this and has been the last room to get some final touches.

Prepping for paint which we did in Farrow and Ball's 'Bone' which is the same color that we used in the guest room. It's a smooth neutral green and makes a great backdrop for any color scheme.

With a few final touches and some soft furnishings, it's finally a comfortable but workable space.

House Guests!

You wouldn't know it by looking at the photo of our front door (above) but, a family of house finches has decided to make our front entrance their home! They are quite a modern family as they settled on the plastic cedar tree on our porch over any of the real trees in the neighborhood. How sweet!

Speaking of house guests, I have decided to forgo the idea of a daybed in our den. Instead, I've decided to add a twin bed to our office so it will double as a guest room. I found the bed below on Kijiji for $45.00! Over the next few weeks I'll make up the bed with a new mattress and some other final touches.
