Painted Doors

Recently, the owners of some red brick townhouses in our neighborhood got together and had their front doors each painted different colors. Their street looks fantastic and each home shows a bit of its own personality with the door color. Spring is here and it's a great time to spruce up your front door with a new color. Here are some photos of different colored doors that I've taken in London, Stamford, Oundle, Chicago and New York......Which color is your favorite??

New York in a minute

What a whirl-wind trip we had last week! I must have walked the entire island of Manhattan (and beyond!) I feel like I could use a new left knee and possibly some reinforcement to my right ankle. I did not take nearly as many photos as I would have liked but it was raining for some of the time and I really couldn't capture all the art deco details and examples that I enjoyed seeing without turning Japanese.  Although I still managed to capture some other lovely images around different areas. Interestingly, the feature presentation of New York was not its iconic buildings, stunning skyline or buzzing city life; but the friendliness and warmth of New Yorkers that was its finest attribute....
