The Beach Down Under

It would seem there is no better inspiration for decorating a home than nature. The scenes, colors, scents and textures together become an intoxicating blend for the senses that we just can't resist echoing in the home.  That may be through real or faux greenery, a 'beachy' color scheme or even simply a scented candle to take you back to the water's edge...

From Four Mile Beach to Coogee to Bronte, the beaches of east coast Australia were breathtaking. I returned home wanting to accent our home solely with shades of blue, green, white, silver and sandy browns.

And after the beach!....

Are you longing for some sun and sand right now?

Hope you have a great week ahead...

Blooms for the Winter Blues

I'm in desperate need of a reprieve from winter! Thank goodness warmer weather is apparent! It is difficult to believe that this gorgeous wintry wonderland  our city has become, will eventfully emerge into greenery and blossom in a few months time.

I've filled the house with the floral scent of Jo Malone's 'Orange Blossom' candles and have been taking a look back at my photos of local gardens in summer; as well as some bountiful blooms from our vacations over the past few years - has been very therapeutic! (Please take note, these are my original photographs!)

Can you guess where these locations are? See the answer key at the end of this post...

Winter has taken hold all over the globe it seems!.....

~ Wishing you warm and sunny days ahead! ~

Botanical

It seems the majority of us (around the world!) have been annihilated by winter this year. Spring's coming...I promise! Until then, some pleasant images from our time in Sydney and Melbourne Australia - hope they warm you up and inspire...
