Halloween!

It's a rainy, overcast, spooky afternoon here in our city. Looking forward to greeting the tricker-treaters with their favorite Halloween treats, and enjoying our usual tradition of sipping on Italian red wine and Italian-inspired snacks (not sure how it started, but it's what we do).

Bertie loved greeting the kids last year. His job at the moment, is guarding candy and cheesies...

Have a safe and spooky Halloween!

Trick or Treat!

We're all ready for Halloween at our house! We have a Halloween ritual of snacking on Italian antipasti and sipping red wine while we hand out treats. Can't wait to see the kids in our neighborhood wearing this year's costumes!

I'm secretly hoping there are some Humpty Dumpty cheesies left over.... I used to eat these on my grandparents beach in the Quebec Laurentians when I was younger. (OK, I'll sneak a bag!) To see more of my Halloween posts over the years, click here.

Feeling Spooky

Oooo......What a wonderfully spooky Halloween moon! I took this photo last October up in the mountains. Imagine wolves howling in the distance.....Speaking of spooky, the residents of Chicago's Gold Coast really get into Halloween apparently and had done a fantastic job decorating their homes for the occasion. Enjoy and be inspired! Boo!!

Happy Halloween!

A few weeks ago, we took a trip to Nova Scotia and stopped in a lovely town called Mahone Bay. We were  just in time for the town's annual scarecrow festival! When a friend of mine saw my photos of the scarecrows  she said, "I can't decide if they're cute or creepy". I wasn't sure myself at the time, but I was most certainly taken with the Georgian neoclassical architecture of the homes. This isn't really a decorating post but I thought these images would be fun to share for Halloween (cute or creepy). Have a fun Halloween tomorrow!
